What is the role of language or words in Islam?

Although Islam is a universal religion, Muslims are encouraged to learn Arabic regardless of their mother tongue. This is in order to better understand the Holy Qur’an and be aware of the meaning behind prayers.

Prayers are scripted as taught by the Holy Prophet(sa), which are recited in the Arabic language. Within the scripted prayer there are opportunities to speak with Allah (God) in any language the worshipper desires.

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community has translated The Holy Quran in over 70 languages!
