Whenever I receive so many letters requesting me to pray for worldly objects, I feel sorry. Very few write to pray for attaining nearness to Allah and no more. There are others who write in a cheating way: first they would request to pray for their being absorbed in Allah’s worship and mention many spiritual objects, and then they would bring in their worldly desires and request for their fulfillment. I at once realise their object. Don’t they know that Allah is Omniscient and is aware of the real intention of every man. To adopt that attitude is to deceive God. It must be got rid of. It behooves you that you devote yourselves wholly to Allah. If you give preference to Allah’s will, then know for certain that your worldly lives will also become honourable. Allah has a jealousy for His servants. He personally looks after them and saves them from all evils. I certainly know and declare that if the seed of love and sincerity that was sown in the hearts of the Sahaba is also sown in your hearts, Allah will shower on you His grace! None would be able to put you in grief. Remember, if a person has strong and unbreakable ties with God, what would he care about the hostility of others!
